Nine rural projects receive recognition from State Superintendent Evers

On February 22, 2010, Supt. Evers recognized nine outstanding projects:

  • 2009 Coleman High School Career Fair: Acres of Diamonds in Our Own Backyard
  • Education through the Arts - Washington Island School
  • Food-4-Thought - Prairie du Chien Area, Senca and Wauzeka-Steuben School Districts
  • Green and Growing: Washburn School District Garden Project
  • Parent University - Flambeau School District
  • Sober Cruising - New Paradigm Partners
  • Splash of Cranberry Tours - Pittsville High School
  • Together for Jackson County Kids - Black River Falls, Alma Center-Humbird-Merillan and Melrose-Mindoro School Districts, the Ho-Chunk Nation and other partners
  • Wilton Public Library Literacy Outreach - with the Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton School District

The Food-4-Thought and Green and Growing Projects are both part of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Americorps Farm-to-School program.  Our congratulations go to coordinator Camilla Vargas and WRP board member Kathy Schmitt.
